Two Month Appointment

Lucas had his two month pediatric appointment this morning. Here are his stats:

1. Height - 90th percentile
2. Weight - 80th percentile, 13.5 pounds
3. Dr. Crowley said he's developing motor skills ahead of schedule (pushing himself up like a four month old!), which is cool.
4. Lucas is cooing and responding to attention in a very fun way
5. He is still sleeping through the night (I half expect this to be a phase, and figure he'll go back to waking after four hours)

We are proud of our boy.

Eight Weeks!

Our Little Man is eight weeks old this week. What a treasure we have on our hands. He's growing like a weed and bringing untold amounts of blessing into our lives every day.

• Lucas is sucking his thumb with fervor
• Our boy is sleeping through the night now (at least eight hours... I had to wake him up to feed him this morning). How lucky are we?!
• He LOVES to laugh at his stuffed animals. He'll stare for a minute and then randomly laugh at them.
• He's officially a Momma's boy. We left him with Julie for a few hours the other day and he did not appreciate that in the slightest.

Matt & I have been pleased with these first two months of parenthood. We have been blessed with a calm, happy baby who was born big and ready to conquer the World! It may seem irrational, but his birth and first few weeks of life seem like another lifetime. Yet, it's only been two months! We are constantly amazed at how much growth takes place so early in life. Our Little Man is developing personality, character and habits already. It is very exciting to see this development and to imagine what type of man God has brought into our lives.

I just had to post these pics. Lucas really enjoys bath time. After bath time, he airs out and is typically a very calm boy...

What a cutie!

I had to post this pic of Lucas today... he's SO cute! Those dimples just melt my heart every time. What a doll!!So, a few updates:

• Our baby boy is seven weeks
• Lucas is sleeping four to five hours a night now, which is awesome! Last week, he slept through the night (8 hours)... twice!
• He is trying to roll himself over during sleepy time. He sleeps longer when he's on his side, which is amusing.
• Lucas can see us from across the room, and it's adorable when he smiles at one of us from a distance.
• Lucas has started sucking his thumb in addition to hanging on to his pacifier. This is awesome!

Matt & I are finding each week to be easier and smoother. As we gain a stronger sense of balance, we are beginning to realize that we can do this!! In addition, we are growing more and more attached to our baby boy. Our love for this child is deep and strong... a type of love neither of us have ever experienced to his arrival. This love deepens our love for one another and creates a strong sense of camaraderie and companionship as we learn to be parents.
