We had children's themed food: Peanut Butter & Jelly, Ham & Cheese, Fruit, Gummi Candy, and Cheez-It Snack Mix. This was partially because food was low on my priority list and also low-budget. Eeek.
Kenna & I became friends shortly after Lucas was born. As an infant, he was often only happy on her lap. As a result, Kenna was often blamed for "hogging him" when we would visit. As you can see, he's still pretty happy with her!
Uncle Andrew & Aunt Pao.
Matt was pretty excited about lunch... as you can see. Lucas, not so much.
Uncle John & Aunt Esther.
Cake Time!
Lucas' cousin, Trip. Trip has been a long-distance friend, up until now. It was such a delight to see Aimee & Trip! The boys are two weeks apart (I think).
Overall, the day was fun. It was exhausting, both emotionally and physically. I get teary just thinking about how fast one year went by. After Lucas (we) blew out his candle, it hit me very hard just how fleeting these moments are. I couldn't help but cry.
Our Baby Boy is the center of our universe and we had no idea just how it would all be before he arrived. God has a way of shaping our hearts around the children in our lives and we're better off for it. We love you Lucas!
You are more perfect
than I could have hoped,
more beautiful than I could have dreamed,
more precious than I could have imagined . . .

more precious than I could have imagined . . .
. . . I love you more than
I could have known
