Rekindle The Conversations

Not unlike many of you who read this blog, we are incredibly busy people. Such is life, right? So... for Mother's Day, Matt (being the stud he is) decided to take Lucas and I to the coast for a day of delights. What a great idea! I told him the only thing I wanted was a day where I did not have to make any decisions... about anything...at all (I make too many decisions on a daily basis, which leaves me exhausted).
So, we went to the Cottage for brunch to start our day. The weather couldn't have been better and the coffee was perfect. Our quiche was pretty darn good too! Yum!

Lucas slept for nearly two hours (we took our time getting to the coast), which allowed Matt & I to have fun conversation that was long overdue. We talked about jobs, dreams, homes, more kids (maybe) and the such... conversations we used to have, before life started to snowball. Sigh... life is busy.

After an great lunch at Pelican Brewery, we walked the beach. Fun times! I always wished we could have a beach house... someday, right? Of course, this led to another conversation about vacation homes and rentals.

Then to Tillamook. I ate my weight in ice cream and a funny lady took Lucas' picture. She said, "Oh he's just so cute!... people must stop you all the time!?" I said, "He's never had a stranger take his picture before, but there is a first for everything." It was funny and she was a very sweet lady... they grow em' sweet in North Carolina! (Now that I'm thinking about it, I should have taken her photo!)

Anywho, what a nice day with my guys. I loved it. Sometimes I wish it was just the three of us on an island (isn't that selfish of me?)  Here are some cute snapshots:

  1. Sounds like a perfect way to spend Mother's Day. Or any day for that matter. :)
